March 6, 1931.
Brooker Motor Company, Anthony, Kansas.
Gentlemen:-
In reply to your inquiry in regard to my Model A car, I am pleased to say that I am the owner of a 1930 Model A Coupe, which I purchased from your company.
I have drive this car 35,759 miles, and find that it is, indeed, very economical on gas, oil and upkeep. I am obliged to keep an accurate account of operating expense on all cars and trucks, and the cost of operation on this Model A Coupe to date has been only .014s per mile.
I live in Anthony, and I believe there is nothing that the Model A will not do. I have had trucks break down forty or fifty miles from Anthony, and I have used the Model A Coupe to tow then in. On one particular occasion one of my motor graders broke down four miles from Anthony and not being able to get hold of a truck or any other means of getting the grader to Anthony, I took Model A Coupe and pushed the grader to town. This grader weighs 13,000 pounds. I do not contend that the Model A Coupe should be used for such service constantly, but it does to show that it will do things that may seem unreasonable.
I formerly owned a 1929 Model A Coupe, which I also purchased from your company, and which I drove 40,184 miles. The cost of operation, depreciation and all expense on the 1929 Model A Coupe was only 2.55 per mile. Due to this low cost, I am lead to believe that the rate of depreciation is less on a Model A than on any other make of automobile.
I am also the owner of a 1930 Model A Tudor, which we use as a family car, and which has been driven 5.700 miles. This car handles easily and rides comfortably over all kinds of roads.
Permit me to say that the Model A will "GO PLACES" and "DO THINGS".
The service rendered by the Brooker Motor Company has been, indeed, very satisfactory at all times.
Very truly yours,
[signed] Roy C. Bruce
